New creel system for the warping mill.

Over the past few weeks I have been designing and building a new creel system for the warping mill that I use.

The creel system is used to take the yarns from the bobbins in a certain order to be wound on to a warping mill in preparation for it to be wound on to a beam. ( photos and an explanation can be found on the weaving process)

On my old warping creel I could only use 24 threads which really limited the patterns that I could create. The new creel can hold up to 60 threads which will allow me to trial a different range of patterns.

I am just finishing my current range of HB21-A on the loom and have warped up a lovely Cerise pink for my next tweed.
